“Then I wanted to know more…” – Daniele 7:19

It was really exciting to study the book “Pay Attention to Daniel’s Prophecies!” and all the prophecies that have come through the centuries have shown, beyond any doubt, the infallibility of the word of God. It is indispensable to compare the biblical book of Daniel to understand many things concerning the Revelation of John because both speak of “the time of the end” and each one completes and reveals interesting details. – Daniel 11:35, 40; Revelation 4:1

God’s view on dedication
girl-praying-hands-eyelashes-41942
What is God's view on dedication? The truth of the matter is, Jehovah God has not said anything on the subject! His Word, the Bible, does not teach the need for us to dedicate ourselves to him in order to gain salvation. Since God is silent on the subject, men have felt free to define whatever they want Dedication to mean. For that reason I find it necessary to quote extensively from the Society's publications, and then compare it with what the Scriptures really say. The bold or cursive in the many quotes are mine to highlight or emphasize the particular point being made.

Parables for Our Days (Part 1)
Carl-Bloch-Sermon-on-the-Mount
What do the parables of Jesus have to say to us? Are they related to our days? First, we must identify and understand which of them have a prophetic application. For example, the parable of the prodigal son contains an excellent teaching for us, but is not prophetic, it announces no event! How then to distinguish the types of parabolas? As usual, it is very simple: we will stick to what Jesus Christ Himself said, without adding or taking away. We will limit the interpretations to the only elements that can be derived directly from narratives or other particular and relevant texts. For the rest, we will gladly content ourselves with the Lord's reply: "It does not belong to you to know the times or seasons that the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction" – Acts 1:7

The Watchtower Society has written much over the years about the "man of lawlessness." For example, Volume 2 of Insight on the Scriptures, under the heading "Temple," ―and after stating that "anointed Christians are a spiritual temple,"― it goes on to explain that "an impostor" is sitting within God's temple. It says: "The apostle Paul, in warning of the apostasy to come, spoke of 'the man of lawlessness' as setting himself up 'so that he sits down in the temple of The God, publicly showing himself to be a god.' (2Th 2:3, 4) This 'man of lawlessness' is an apostate, a false teacher, so he actually seats himself only in what he falsely claims to be that temple."―it-2 p. 1083 Temple

"The intentions of the heart belong to a man." (Proverbs 16:1; NET)
It is not at all unusual for a chosen and anointed one of Jehovah to become proud and presumptuous, although having previously been humble. For example, Jehovah chose young Saul out of all the men in Israel to become king over his people Israel. Why Saul? What special quality did Jehovah see in him? The Bible tells us that "Saul was not only the most handsome man in Israel, but he was also the most imposing, standing taller than all others." (1 Samuel 9:2; The Voice) Was it because of his physical appearance that God chose Saul? No, not entirely, for there was something more important that Jehovah saw in him, as Samuel later reminded Saul: “Is it not true that even though you were small (insignificant) in your own eyes, you were made the head of the tribes of Israel?" (1 Samuel 15:17; AMP) It was Saul's humility that made him special in God's eyes; and yet, although his good looks must have made him popular with his fellow Israelites, it was God's blessings that went to his head so that he became in a short time presumptuous; for not only did he erect a monument for himself, but he also failed to carry out God's specific instructions. (1 Samuel 15:12, 22,23)

"You are already clean because of the word that I have spoken to you." (John 15:3)
What did Jesus mean when, after having dismissed Judas, he told his eleven faithful apostles that they were "already clean" because of the word that he had spoken to them? Remember earlier, when Jesus took a basin with water and proceeded to wash the feet of his disciples (with Judas still present), Peter objected and told Jesus, "You will certainly never wash my feet." He was startled when Jesus answered him by saying: "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me." Peter immediately reversed his objection and replied: "Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head." In turn, Jesus answered: "He that has bathed does not need to have more than his feet washed, but is wholly clean. And you men are clean, but not all." The apostle John, one of the twelve who was present, explains further: "[Jesus] knew, indeed, the man betraying him (Judas). This is why he said: 'Not all of you are clean.'" (John 13:2-11)

Every year thousands of young people around the world get disfellowshipped. Short of being incarcerated in a correctional facility it is probably the most devastating experience that can be inflicted on a young person. That is because at the most formative time in their lives they are suddenly cut off from supportive family and friends and publicly branded as persons unworthy of life. And why is this cruel punishment imposed upon them? Because they were baptized as Jehovah’s Witnesses when they were young.

It all begins with the artfully contrived false story that Christ began ruling the world in 1914. Supposedly Satan was hurled down from heaven then too and the world has been experiencing his great anger ever since. Jehovah’s Witnesses have been led to believe that the wild beast suffered the prophesied mortal wound during the First World War, but has long since recovered. And although most JW’s probably are not even aware of it, the Watchtower teaches that people of the world began receiving the 666 mark of the beast back in 1922. Yes, according to the Watchtower the hour of judgment began long ago, also known as the hour of test that Jesus said was coming upon the entire world.

Who compose the Israel of God?
The 144'000, as we have seen, are a group of men and women chosen by God to reign with Jesus Christ in heaven. They do not represent the entire Israel of God but only a part. So, who are those who compose the Israel of God? (Galatians 6:16) We will also answer other questions: What is the relationship between the "little flock", the "other sheep" and the "great crowd"? (Luke 12:32; John 10:16; Revelation 7:9) In the first century all Christians were part of the 144'000? Are there still components of the 144'000 on earth today?

"And I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; those also I must bring, and they will listen to my voice, and they will become one flock, one shepherd." —John 10:16
The words uttered at John 10:16 has greater significance for the “Great Crowd” than they realise. Knowing who the “OtherSheep” are will draw those of the “Great Crowd” closer to their mediator Jesus, and their heavenly father Jehovah God. When considering John 10:16 was Jesus foretelling a future event approximately 2000 years in advance, the appearance of two distinct groups? One group receiving a heavenly calling contrasted to those with the hope of living on earth forever? Or rather, was he referring to prophecies which were about to be fulfilled in connection with the nations who would come to Jehovah in pure worship and have their sins forgiven on the basis of the ransom that his son paid, as the resurrected Jesus.

The Role of Women
George Crux–woman-face-eyes-head-1439814-639x442
“…your longing will be for your husband, and he will dominate you.” – Genesis 3:16
We have only a partial idea of what the role of women in human society was intended to be because sin has skewed the relationship between the sexes. Recognizing how male and female traits would become distorted due to sin, Jehovah predicted the outcome in Genesis 3:16 and we can see the realization of those words in evidence everywhere in the world today. In fact, the domination of men over woman is so pervasive that it often passes for the norm rather than the aberration it really is.
As apostate thinking infected the Christian congregation, so did male bias. The congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses would have us believe that it alone understands the proper relationship between men and women that should exist in the Christian congregation. Unfortunately, its own literature proves that not to be the case.

Showbread and the New Covenant
Q: I launched into my own personal investigation of the Bible on [the New Covenant].  After doing extensive research, I came to the conclusion that ALL Christians are indeed in the New Covenant, but only the anointed with the heavenly hope partake of the emblems.  I hold this opinion based on my research on the similarities between the Old and New Covenants.
I am sure you are familiar with the showbread that was placed before the altar in the temple on the Sabbath day of each week.  Only the priests who served in the temple were permitted to eat it.  Is it possible that this  pictured who may partake of the emblems under the New Covenant? Personally, I think it does.  Under the Old Covenant, Moses sprinkled the blood of the covenant on ALL of the sons of Israel, but yet, when the Levite tribe was created and Aaron and his sons anointed to service in the temple, ONLY these ones could eat the showbread.
In conclusion, all the sons of Israel were included under the Old Covenant.  All the sons of spiritual Israel are included in the New Covenant.  Only the anointed priests serving in the temple could eat the showbread.  Only the anointed priests serving in the spiritual temple can eat the emblems.
Your thoughts would be appreciated...

Matt Slick of The Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry (CARM) asks that very question (Is the Jehovah’s Witnesses religion Christian?) and conveniently supplies the reader with the answer. Here is a quote taken from the CARM website: The answer to the question is, ‘No. It is not Christian.’ Like all non-Christian cults, the Jehovah’s Witness organization distorts the essential doctrines of Christianity. What “essential doctrines of Christianity” have Jehovah’s Witnesses distorted? The next sentence enumerates three: It denies the deity of Christ, His physical resurrection, and salvation by grace. This alone makes it non-Christian.

Probably no historical record has been more scoffed at than the Bible. However, the facts show that if it weren't considered a book of religion and it had only recently been discovered by archaeologists, it would be proclaimed the most significant find in all history. For its details as to family lines, lands of occupation, life spans, and events should provide positive proof to even the most skeptical observers that its accounts are genuine and accurate, because no one would go into such minute detail if they were simply creating a forged document. Oh, they could if they wished, but that would require a high level of sophistication and some very dark motives.

Born Again – What Did Jesus Mean
Crijn Hendricksz Volmarijn - Jesus and Nicodemus
I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God. – John 3:3, NLT
The vast majority of the many churches in the realm of Christendom believe that a person must be "born again" in order to go to heaven and be with Jesus. That belief is said to be based on the conversation that Jesus had with Nicodemus, a Pharisee and ruler of the Jews, who came to Jesus after dark to visit him privately. When Nicodemus confessed that Jesus must be from God―on account of the many miracles, Jesus answered him, saying: "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again," and be "born of water and the Spirit". (John 3:3-7; NIV) What did Jesus mean by the term born again? And when a person today claims to have been born again, or asks if you have been born again, what exactly does he have in mind?

It seems that the twenty-four elders are a different group from the 144’000. In this topic we’ll try to demonstrate it the old fashioned way: “Concordance” in hand, we will read all the verses of Revelation which contains the expression “twenty-four elders” and, without prejudice, we will accept what the Bible says. The sole purpose of this topic is to show that the two concerned groups do not represent the same people. Moreover, as a matter of a marginal reflexion, we will give a probable interpretation of the identity of these twenty-four elders.

When considering the world scene is unparalleled in history as far as environmental destruction, social disorder, etc, etc do the critical times apply to this time period or is it still to come? Jesus also stated in Mathew 24: 8 ”All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress”. So I’m wondering how this relates considering this has not happened yet but world condition are trending downward?

QUESTION: I was reading one of the study articles called "Why Keep on the Watch”, and in paragraph 12, I found this interesting statement about what’s to come in the future: “Do not let the apathy of others discourage or dissuade you from keeping on the watch. You know better. Paul wrote to fellow believers: “You yourselves know very well that Jehovah’s day is coming,” and he added, “exactly as a thief in the night.” Jesus warned us: “Keep ready, because at an hour that you do not think likely, the Son of man is coming.” (Luke 12:39,40) — Soon, Satan will deceive the masses into accepting a false sense of “peace and security.” He will mislead them into thinking that all is well on the world scene. What about us? That day of judgment does not have to “overtake [us] as it would thieves”, provided we “stay awake and keep our senses.” — That is why we daily must read God’s written Word and meditate on what Jehovah is telling us.”
Based on the line that I indicated in bold, would this be the beginning of the great tribulation? Also, would you agree this false sense of peace and security is a unique event in the future and not the relative peace that exists in some parts of the world?

The Kingdom of the heavens is like a dragnet let down into the sea and gathering fish of every kind. — Matt. 13:47
Jesus likened the preaching of the Kingdom message to all mankind to the lowering of a large dragnet into the sea. Just as such a net indiscriminately catches large numbers of “fish of every kind,” our preaching work attracts millions of people of all kinds. Not all those attracted to the truth will take a stand for Jehovah. Many have associated with us at our meetings. Others have been willing to study the Bible with us but are not willing to make a commitment. Still others are no longer associating with the Christian congregation. Some youths have been raised by Christian parents and yet have not developed a love for Jehovah’s standards. No matter what the situation, Jesus emphasized that everyone needs to make a personal decision. Those who do are viewed by him as “the precious,” or “desirable,” things “of all the nations.”

Did not Jesus say in Matthew 10:34-37: “Do not think I came to bring peace to the earth; I came to bring, not peace, but a sword. For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. Indeed, a man’s enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me; and whoever has greater affection for son or daughter than for me is not worthy of me.”?

Over the course of the past 15 years the Watchtower has come under increasing scrutiny regarding child sexual abuse among Jehovah’s Witnesses. There have been numerous high profile lawsuits brought against elders and the Watchtower corporation, multi-million dollar judgments, capped in 2015 with the Royal Australian Commission holding a public inquiry and the subsequent bombshell revelation that of over 1,000 known cases of child abuse in Australia not a single crime was reported to the police.
As the heat has gotten hotter the Watchtower’s spokesmen have been adamant in claiming that Jehovah’s Witnesses abhor child abuse and the organization’s policies are effective —that is, until now. As of September 2016 the Watchtower’s Legal Department has quietly begun to institute a new policy.

Until He Comes
Commentary on the Daily Text: Thursday, September 8, 2016
Keep doing this in remembrance of me.—1 Cor. 11:24.
Night has fallen, but a full moon bathes Jerusalem in soft light. It is the evening of Nisan 14, 33 C.E. Jesus and his apostles have celebrated the Passover, commemorating Israel’s deliverance from Egyptian bondage 15 centuries earlier. With 11 loyal apostles, Jesus now institutes a special meal—one that will memorialize the death he will experience before this day ends. Jesus says a blessing and passes unleavened bread to the apostles, saying: “Take, eat.” He takes a cup of wine, again offers thanks, and says: “Drink out of it, all of you.” Jesus will not pass other food items to them, but he will have much more to tell his faithful followers on this momentous night. So it was that Jesus instituted the Memorial of his death, also called “the Lord’s Evening Meal.”

You Will See Your Grand Instructor
Commentary on the Daily Text: Friday, July 29 2016
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Your spirit is good; may it lead me on level ground.—Ps. 143:10.
Although Jehovah makes his counsel freely available, he does not force anyone to follow it. We need to ask for his holy spirit, and he will give it to us generously. It is essential, though, that we ‘pay attention to how we listen.’ For example, it would be hypocritical to ask Jehovah for help to overcome an inclination toward immorality while continuing to look at pornography or watch immoral movies. We actually need to put ourselves in places or circumstances where Jehovah’s spirit is. We know that his spirit is at the congregation meetings. Many servants of Jehovah have avoided disaster by listening to Jehovah during our meetings. As a result, they have become aware of wrong desires developing in their heart and have corrected their ways.

When Is the Great Crowd?
Commentary on the Daily Text: Saturday, August 20, 2016
The eyes of Jehovah are on the righteous, and his ears listen to their supplication.—1 Pet. 3:12.
The righteous include “a great crowd” who “come out of the great tribulation.” (Rev. 7:9, 14) These survivors are not just “a crowd.” They are “a great crowd”—a very large number of people. Do you see yourself among them as a survivor of “the great tribulation”? Where do those making up the great crowd come from? They are being brought together because of what Jesus foretold as part of the sign of his presence. He said: “This good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matt. 24:14) In these last days, this is the chief work of God’s organization. Because of the global preaching and teaching activity of Jehovah’s Witnesses, millions of people have learned to worship God “with spirit and truth.”—John 4:23, 24. w14 5/15 4:6, 7

When Is “Then”?
Commentary on the Daily Text: Thursday, July 21 2016
People will hand you over to tribulation and will kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations.—Matt. 24:9.
As followers of Christ and Witnesses of Jehovah, we are persecuted in nations around the world. This is to be expected. In the face of such hatred, however, we endure in the Kingdom-preaching work and continue to prove ourselves holy before Jehovah. Although we are honest, clean-living, and law-abiding citizens, why are we so hated? (Rom. 13:1-7) Because we have made Jehovah our Sovereign Lord! We render sacred service to “him alone” and will never compromise on his righteous laws and principles. (Matt. 4:10) We are also “no part of the world.” Therefore, we are neutral with regard to the world’s wars and political affairs. (John 15:18-21; Isa. 2:4) If we are focused on God’s sovereignty and we trust in him, nobody can cause us to compromise and be ensnared by cowardly fear.—Prov. 29:25. w14 11/15 3:8-10

Since it has become apparent to me that the WTBTS has missed the mark on many scriptural issues because of their dogged defense of 1914, 1918 et al., I have to ask your scriptural viewpoint on the prohibition on blood as stated in Act 15 and other pertinent places in scripture. I have always felt that the societies viewpoint was well supported scripturally, but at this point I find myself questioning everything. What is your take on this subject? I don't recall seeing you weigh in on this. If you have, I have missed it. Again, I would value your response. Please support your reply scripturally. Thank you in advance.

I am a Witness and want you to know that I appreciate your website (perimeno.ca). I look up the Scriptures you use and often do additional research to satisfy myself that they agree with other scriptures on the subject. It has helped me in clearing up a number of things that I had difficulty explaining before, while it also has confirmed some things that I already knew. But there is one thing I have not been able to explain to myself scripturally, and I haven't seen discussed on your site and that is, why don't we celebrate birthdays? I recently went to a party of a relative of mine, which turned out to be on his birthday, and which an elder counseled me about later when he found out I had been there. (I don't know how he found out.) I told him that when I went I was not aware that it was a birthday party and asked him why it is wrong to celebrate birthdays anyways. I must admit that even if I had known I probably would have gone anyways. This relative recently moved to our state and last year I went to his 10th wedding anniversary. I asked the elder why it is ok to celebrate wedding anniversaries but not birthdays. He gave me the usual reply that the Society gives, which I already know, but no Scriptures.

Q1: I had a question about baptism. I was wondering if its true that one must be baptized in order to survive armageddon. Of course I want to be baptized but I would like to know what would happen if I didn’t get the chance?
Q2: I would like someone to explain to me the discussion of baptism last Saturday. Is it precisely the concept expressed in regard to baptism as a requirement for salvation?

A Generation Pure In Its Own Eyes
"There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes but that has not been washed from its own excrement."
―Proverbs 30:12, NWT.
Jesus asked: “Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time?” (Matthew 24:45) He thus indicated that there would be a household that would have a slave appointed to feed and take care of the members of that household. Eventually Jesus, as the master, would hold the appointed slave accountable for how he carried out the responsibility he was entrusted with. The apostle Peter also clearly indicates that God has a household, and Paul told the Ephesians that they were members of God’s household. (1 Peter 4:17; Ephesians 2:19) Jesus promised his disciples that he would be with them until “the end of the age”,  therefore his household would survive until the time of its inspection.―Matthew 28:20; 24:46-51.
Where today do we find God’s household? Is it made up of all those who profess to follow Jesus? Jesus himself said that there would be many who would claim to belong to him, but he would tell them, “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.” (Matthew 7:22,23) None of us want to be among such ones. Is it possible today to identify God’s household? Indeed, does belonging to God’s household guarantee that a person has God’s approval?

Illustration: John Hain on Pixabay.com
Jehovah's Witnesses are well known for their practice of disfellowshipping unrepentant wrongdoers. But it is not just sinners who lack any remorse that are disfellowshipped or cast out of the organization. Also expelled are persons who may have addiction problems or any who manifest the works of the flesh, such as the apostle Paul listed in Galatians 5:19-21, "immorality, impurity, indecency, Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies), Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like." Since Paul goes on to say that "those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God”, any who are baptized Witnesses and are guilty of practicing such things are put out of the organization, they are disfellowshipped.

The Book of Job: Why?
Seghersjob
The book of Job is a fascinating publication. First book of the bible that has been written, it gives yet the answers to the main questions of men: why is there evil, and what is the remedy. The book of Job not only recounting the ups and downs of its main character, but offers the hope that human race will experience the relief of his pain by revealing the identity of the redeemer. We must not believe that the question of the universal sovereignty of Jehovah only looks at our little planet, but on the contrary it has an universal dimension: Satan has posed a challenge to Jehovah, thinking that he would not be able to meet it without breaking his own laws. In the heaven a chess game is played that is beyond us.
Gérard Gertoux, in his publication The Book of Job - Chronological, Historical and Archaeological Evidence, try to combine archaeology and biblical text in order to demonstrate the usefulness of the book of Job. The reading may seem daunting, and requires an intense thought to be able to hang on to the ideas of his author, and, even if the thesis is seductive, some doubts remain on some of the explanations. Below you will find an excerpt under the title: The Book of Job: Why? As always, you are encouraged to give your point of view in the space for comments.

What Does 607 BCE Mean to You, and Does it Matter?
Jeremiah lamenting the destruction of Jerusalem - Rembrandt
”And he is changing times and seasons, removing kings and setting up kings, giving wisdom to the wise ones and knowledge to those knowing discernment. He is revealing the deep things and the concealed things, knowing what is in the darkness; and with him the light does dwell." —Daniel 2:21,22; NWT
Jesus made God's kingdom the focus of his ministry, preaching it as good news everywhere he went. He taught us not only to pray for the kingdom to come, but also stressed that it should occupy the most important place in our lives. (Matt. 6:9,10, 33; Luke 4:43) This is the kingdom that God foretold by means of his prophet Daniel, when he said that he will "set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. . . It will crush and put an end to all [existing] kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite." In vision Daniel also saw "someone like a son of man" to whom God gave "rulership and dignity and kingdom, that the peoples, national groups and languages should all serve even him." (Daniel 2:44; 7:13,14) Along with the son of man, Daniel further saw that ”the definite time arrived” and "the kingdom and the rulership and the grandeur of the kingdoms under all the heavens were given to the people who are the holy ones of the Supreme One." (Dan. 7:18, 22, 27; NWT) Understandably, God's people have wondered about this kingdom ever since Daniel's day. (1 Peter 1:10-12) During his ministry, Jesus provided many of the answers, such as the coming blessings of that kingdom; the identity of the "son of man," and of the "holy ones." (Matt. 11:4,5; 16:28-17:9; 19:27,28; 25:31; Luke 12:32) But he did not give his disciples the answer to perhaps the most intriguing of all questions: When does ”the definite time” arrive for God's kingdom to come? Are there any indications, anywhere in the Scriptures, that might be helpful in calculating accurately the time for the establishment of God's kingdom?

In your understanding of the wheat and weeds parable at matt 13, does the wheat only represent “anointed” Christians or all Christians? I know the WT always says its just anointed, but it seems more fitting that it would be all. Comparing what you have written on the topic if the weeds are being separated from the kingdom, if it was just representing anointed Christians how many weeds or impostor anointed would there really be, doesn’t seem like it could be that many. Where as if it was weeds or false Christians spread amongst average Christians (which I would imagine is much bigger amount than with the anointed) it would seem like more of a head count to separate those weeds from just average Christians.

I am one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. I am not disfellowshipped nor have I disassociated myself. I still go to meetings on occasion, but I’m what is considered inactive. My interest is that you still hold true to the teaching of Jehovah’s witnesses but yet not everything. Although I was raised a Catholic, I never believed Jesus was God, or hell fire, or in the immortality of the soul and Idolizing the saints. As a result of this it was very easy for me to accept and become one Jehovah’s Witnesses And so I too believe the basic doctrines which by way were believed since the time of Russell. My problem is that I am stumbled over the attention that is given to what is revered to as “God’s Organization.” Instead of trying to strengthen our faith in God’s Kingdom they want us to look to “Jehovah’s Organization”. And so this prelude was just hopefully, to help you better understand my question. How much involvement does Jehovah actually have with “Jehovah’s Organization”.

How is the number 144,000 inclusive of (if literal) ALL who will go to heaven? A unique feature of the 144,000 sealed ones is indicated at Rev. 6:11 where it says they wait under the altar until “the number was filled of their fellow slaves and their brother WHO WERE ABOUT TO BE KILLED AS THEY HAD BEEN.” Rev. 7:4 gives us the specific number of these sealed ones. Does this not indicate that they all die? However, 1 Cor. 15: 51 reveals that not all will “fall asleep in death”, and 1Thess. 4:17 says “the LIVING who are surviving will, TOGETHER with them, (“them” defined in vs. 16) be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air…” How do you reconcile this scripturally?

Why is the comma placed after “today” instead of after “you” in this verse? QUESTION: Since Jehovah God is the father of Jesus, how is it that on Matthew 1:1-16 listing the genealogy of Jesus says that he is related to Joseph? Joseph never had relations to Mary until after Jesus’ birth, so his genetic material was never part of Jesus’ conception.  Thus, how is it that Jesus is a son of David, son of Abraham? A little more than a century ago Charles Taze Russell made the bold proclamation: “The Gentile times have ended. When Austrian Archduke, Franz Ferdinand, along with his wife Sophie, were assassinated in Sarajevo on June 28th, it resulted in all the Great Powers of Europe choosing up sides and declaring war against each other in a matter of a few weeks – setting the stage for the bloodbath that became known as the First World War. Those tragic developments led C. T. Russell to make his historic announcement on October the 2nd of that year.

One of the most intriguing mysteries of Revelation has to do with the identity of the symbolic Babylon the Great. There are various interpretations of what “Babylon the Great” represents. For example, one of the latest interpretations is that Babylon the Great is America. Others think that it is the old Roman Empire or the Vatican. In fact, back in the 1850’s Alexander Hislop, in his book The Two Babylons, made a compelling case that the Catholic Church is the symbolic harlot. The Catholic Church, though, says that they are not the great harlot, but that apostate Jerusalem and pagan Rome fit the profile of the whore of Babylon.
